Meet our Wonderful Staff…
Adam
A native Portlander, Adam is a member of an intentional community 10 minute’s walk from the bookshop, where he lives with 12 housemates, including his wife, brother, two children, cat and six chickens. A bookseller for 10 years, he has worked as a landscaper, roofer, and pizza-tosser. When not cataloging books or on the road buying libraries, you might catch Adam growing tomatoes, baking bread, or slugging his way through Karl Barth’s Church Dogmatics.
Favorite Book: The Brothers K (as if I had a choice)
Currently Reading: Frederick Douglas, Prophet of Freedom
Jared
Jared has been working for the bookstore for roughly a year, and had volunteered at Windows prior to that for two years. When not working at the bookstore, you can find Jared reading, listening to hardcore, or cooking. Jared’s main interests are in theology, continental philosophy, and psychoanalysis/psychology. He enjoys a strong drink, and having Lacan along as company.
Favorite Book: Impossible question! But I am particularly fond of Left Hand of Darkness, or One Hundred Years of Solitude
